Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026. The German version is legally binding.

1. In short

This website uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics, and it loads no fonts, scripts or content from third-party servers. I only process personal data if you join the waitlist or write to me. The SpeakTact app itself recognizes speech only on your device.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. When you open the site, the host processes technically necessary data in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system.

This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host. The servers are located in Germany.

4. Your language choice

If you choose a language with the DE/EN switch, the site stores that choice in your browser's local storage (localStorage, key “speaktact.lang”). It never leaves your browser and is not sent to me. Storing it is strictly necessary for the function you asked for (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

5. Waitlist

If you join the waitlist, I process your email address and chosen language to inform you about the beta and the launch of SpeakTact. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

Double opt-in: After signing up you receive an email with a confirmation link. You are only added once you confirm. To be able to prove your consent, the time and IP address of sign-up and confirmation are logged.

Service provider: The waitlist runs on Brevo, a service of Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France. Brevo stores the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. More information: Brevo's privacy policy.

Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to me. Your data is then deleted. I delete the entire waitlist no later than 6 months after SpeakTact's public launch.

6. Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your details to answer your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). Messages are deleted once they are dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.

7. The SpeakTact app

The app processes your speech only on your device. Audio and recognized text are not transmitted, not stored on any server and not used for training. The keyboard extension has no internet access. The app contains no tracking, no ads and no analytics, and needs no account.

Microphone: The microphone is only used while dictation is active.

Full Access: The keyboard needs “Full Access” only to communicate with the SpeakTact app on your device. Nothing you type is sent or stored.

Speech model download: During setup, the app downloads the speech model once from Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc., 20 Jay Street, Suite 620, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA). For technical reasons, Hugging Face receives your IP address and details of the request. No audio or text is transmitted. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as the app cannot work without the model. More information: Hugging Face's privacy policy.

Diagnostic log: The app keeps a technical log on your device. It never contains dictated text and only leaves the device if you share it yourself.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). Just send me an email.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live or the one responsible for me: the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
